Leeds Half Marathon 12th May 2013

I have to say it was a tougher course than I was expecting although probably levels itself in second half, up first half and down (ish)/flat second half.  Bit of a grind up Meanwood Road/Stonegate Road and it took it out of me…….I’m hoping Joe will agree…Collo, Goodair and Winter ran in the corporate relay approx 2 mile each (team of 6) and came third.  It seems they had a ‘ham and egg’ leg somewhere who lost some ground……..but it wasn’t any of them……and for once I couldn’t be blamed!

The winner clocked 1:13:08

Joe Restell 1:32:52

Steve Leyland 1:55:20

North Lincs Half Sunday 28th May 2013

2nd running of this flat, fast course ending at Glanford Park (home of the now relegated Scunthorpe United).  Very well organised event, plenty of water stations and jelly babies, with Frankie and Benny’s brownies waiting at the finish!

Skelton Mowbray and Nervous Peacock clocked PB’s, great runs.  ‘ber ran injured and Beast Hinchcliffe carried Pie Leyland round.

Good Luck London Runners….

Good luck to each and everyone of ADRC’s finest and most dedicated, some attempting their first, some their umpteenth, all should be proud.

Reading the various articles following the terrible events in Boston got me thinking,

Running is an individual thing, although I have never felt a bigger sense of comm’unity‘ than being a runner has given me …..

Enjoy the weekend !  The ADRC support will be out in force.

Road League 10th April ****LODGE MOOR****** change of venue

The original venue for race 1 (penistone ) is still under snow……….

Race 1 10th April     Lodge Moor, Sheffield   Start 19.00 hours

Race HQ  Three Merry Lads     Sat Nav info  S10 4LJ

This is a new venue and course. From Sheffield take the A57 (Glossop) which goes past Sheffield University and Weston Park Hospital. Continue on the A57 to the Crosspool area and turn left into Sandygate Road just past a petrol station. It is sign posted Hallam F.C. Carry on for two miles and park on the road side beyond the bus turning circle as far as the Sportsman pub on the left. There is parking in the car park for the playing fields just past the Sportsman but we may use this for the finish. If you park there you will not be able to get out until the last runner has finished. The start is at the Three Merry Lads a little further up the road. Do not block gates or driveways. The car park at the Three Merry lads can be used if you are staying for a drink of food. Toilets are in the pub. Please respect other pub users. The course is rather hilly and rural so definitely NO earphones.
