We have been asked to post here that Dave’s funeral is Friday 19th at 11.00am, Rose Hill Crematorium, Cantley.
Donations are to Doncaster Royal Infirmary Ward 32 and St Johns Hospice, Tickhill Road both of whom cared and looked after Dave these past 4 years and where he made many friends.
I will update further when we know.
Its with deep sadness to let you know that Dave passed away Tuesday night after his long battle with illness. I don’t think its an overstatement to say he was an immense part and influence on our club and was dearly loved by all who met him – he always had a story to tell and chocolate to share.
I’m sure I speak for all of us in saying we miss him greatly and he will always be fondly remembered. Our hearts go out to Jane, Jessica and Lee.

The Annual General Meeting is after the Time Trial on Thursday (it’s usually the TT in April).
Hopefully there’ll still be beer and chips as usual for a TT!

Despite being previously told by the organisers the Middelkerke races are 21st August this year (their rule is 3rd Sunday in August, our 10 miler is 2nd Sunday in August) we have now had confirmation they have had to move their race to the 14th due to a clash with another festival.
This unfortunately clashes with our Askern 10mile and means its highly likely we won’t be doing the usual Middelkerke trip.
Suggestions are invited for an alternative and whilst there aren’t explicit set criteria my understanding of broad requirements are:
- suitable races to give most people the opporuntity to run (Middelkerke had 5km through 20km over the years, recently a 5km, 8km and 16km)
- within two hours of the Chunnel if coaching to the continent
- hotel large enough to house us all (20ish rooms?)
- restaurants again large enough to house big groups
- school holidays
Fez had a great suggestion, we could go on our regular dates regardless and organise a handicap / time trial ourselves! I like how he thinks…

As a thank you to existing members and a reflection of the stable finances of the club it was decided at the AGM that for fully paid up members of 2014/15 that no membership fees would be due for 2015/16. All existing benefits of membership remain; the club is simply picking up the cost this year.
For new members in 2015/16 it is £30pa to join which includes the club vest, then £20pa ongoing.
If you do wish to resign from the club for any reason please advise Dave Collingwood as there is still a cost borne by the club per member and there are UKA procedures we must follow if you are transferring to another club.
Our club continues to be successful from the 3 races we host each year, all of which are nudging 30 years plus in existence. These races can only exist through the support of our members and committee.
