As many of you know the Road Leagues were under serious threat of disappearing due to a hole in the leadership after Keith’s departure. Now there is a concerted effort by Steel City Striders (or at least individuals from) to take this on.
They have limited the entries to 500 runners across the 4 races and have allocated (after initial survey requesting numbers) places to each club – we have 13.
We will operate it on a first come first served basis and that you must be “positive” that they you be doing at least one of the races. This is only fair to the organisers as if we don’t fill our quota we need to hand places back but equally if we don’t get our runners to the start line that’s not in the spirit either.
You need to pay for the number up front, with a refund to be given when you complete one of the fixtures.
We cannot deprive anyone else of a number if its only a “maybe”; whether from our club or others.
The absolute deadline for our submission is 7pm Monday 6th March 2017.
Given the short notice you’ll have to let me know if you are a runner but bear in mind my priorities are gearing up for the N9 this weekend.

There was a little confusion and uncertainty around Middelkerke as the dates of their races moved after initially confirming them with us. The decision has been taken that the regular trip on the regular weekend (week after our 10 mile) is on, despite there being no race that weekend. We will sort something be it, club v club, handicap or simply no running!

Hiya, its that time to arrange the London Marathon trip (sunday 24th April). Typical trip, go down Saturday return Monday evening, staying at the Columbia hotel, Lancaster Gate OR arrange the trip to suite your requirements. 3 laps of an off-road 8.33km course for solo runners or teams of 3. Collo is sorting relay teams, if you want solo enter yourselves and the club will reimburse.
If you need one contact Doc Marlow as ex-Captain-now-current-Captain-again Collo is away for a bit.
Its that time of year (mid August) when we need to be thinking about Christmas. Edwinstowe is back on again his year, the club will pay both the coach and entry fees (its feeling festive).
We will do a block booking for entries, which if you can send to me I will collate. Likely need DOB and T-Shirt size. Will discuss food at a later date.
