There seems to be a bit of interest in this 10K from the more descerning athletes. I've got some entry forms and I'm going to do this one so if anyone wants an entry form or a lift to the race.
I'm your man.

Well, The lack of response from team-mates should have told me that this one was one to miss. 1st January saw the coldest day for quite a while with a stiff north wind coming in across the sea. Andy Forsyth and I bravely set off in pursuit of glory, and of all the other runners since we were stuck at the back with various bizaar lifeforms....they were probably thinking the same thing about us. Andy soon left me for dead since my protruding stomach kept getting wedged between my ankles (nice image that) as we headed off straight into the windy section of the race...that's all of it. Andy managed a ten second improvement for the 10K on last year (42:43) and I managed a personal worst for the distance (44:46) finishing just behind Janet Hindley and just about everyone else in the race.... Having completed the race we set of for stage two of the mission...to have a New Year dip in the sea.........thank goodness the tide was so far out we couldn't even see the sea, let alone jump into it.
A lovely friendly atmosphere and a well organised race...all in all...shame it's on New Years Day really.
