Told you to wear sunscreen…
Big congratulations to local runners Peter Badger and Faye Banks winning, along with all the other category winners and placers – and to be honest, all who turned out on such a hot day. We appreciate all who attended as well as the support from marshals and Run Direct – we wanted to keep the three-decade continuous run of this race going and we managed it.

The Askern 10 Mile (12 August) will be open tonight.
Thanks all, ADRC
Was meant to be this Tuesday 3rd, but has been decided to be pushed back to make sure maximum attendance when it’s run. I mean, could you imagine Dave’s stress levels with a race in his name whilst England were playing in a World Cup knock out? Even Jane’s commented he wouldn’t have been there…
Take care all.

Collect number on the day (no chip for this one time); HQ open from 08.30 am – race start at 10.00am. Leave plenty of time…
Parking opposite Norton Middle School courtesy of Norton Strawberry Growers (sat nav: DN6 9DG). Do not park on West End Road as this forms part of the course.
Also, the start has changed to the main road from the side street so we will be congregating runners in the park and walking down just ahead of the race. Please follow the marshal’s instructions.
Other than that, as Baz Luhrmann once said, wear sunscreen…
Invitation to all ADRC members.
This year we are changing the date and format from the Norton 9 relay of last year to make it more inclusive and viable, we felt last year that runners waiting or finished were isolated until we regrouped in the pub….
The date this year is three weeks today, Tuesday 3rd July (it was always intended to move it towards lighter nights in summer) and we are thinking a team of 3 x 2.2mile legs through Campsall Park.
I’ll put more info on when available but this year the theme will be to wear something green, the closer to the Freddo green you can achieve the better… This is intended be a fun night of running, as Dave always loved it when the club had a bit of a get together.
Hope to see you there, whether it is as a runner, spectator or a helper.
Miss you Dave.
If anybody’s interested let Paul Collo know.
It is a great race, apart from the uphills (and for me, downhills), but other than that a really nice event. Be good to get a decent club showing out, particularly for those new to the club..

Hope you all had a great race, weather seemed ideal.
Don’t forget about the rescheduled Norton 9 in about 6 weeks, Sunday 1st July. Entries are open and you can enter here: 2018 Norton 9 (Rescheduled)
Update: we are accepting entries on the day up to our race limit of 600. Entries on the day will still incur a £2 surcharge (UKA rules) so its better to enter on-line up to the day before.
Rescheduled Date: Sunday 1st July @ 10am
Online entries: 2018 Norton 9 Rescheduled
We managed to find a slot in the local race calendar and have re-arranged the Norton 9 to 1st July. As we refunded everyone their race entry fee for the cancelled March running its on people to re-enter for the July running if they wish.
Everything else is pretty much the same about the race, race starts at 10am and HQ is at Norton Junior School (DN6 9DG). Unfortunately our chip-timers are already maxed out and rather than go for another provider with the complications that could bring we’ll revert for a one-off to the manual timing we always used to do. Don’t worry – it does still work!

Collect number and returnable chip on the day; HQ open from 5.00pm – race start at 7.00pm. Leave plenty of time…
Parking at Askern Miners Welfare Club (sat nav: DN6 0AJ),
Have a good run!
….a whole £20. Dave Collo is membership sec. (Which is code for don’t give me the money)
However, the club owes all Percy Pudders who ran and entered under their own steam £20. So £20 = £20. I’ll provide Dave Collo a list of those this applies to.
Subject says it all! Apart from the agenda…. No doubt 10km.
