Yorkshire 3Peaks

An incredibly beautiful, enjoyable but difficult journey…

We met our guide at 7.pm and set off at 7.10 we walked on a quite quick pace to Pen ey gent from Horton in ribblesdale. We climbed the first section and I was shattered. I said I was giving up. The guide told me that he had to get me over the peak and then he would tell us where to go back to the start. We then got to the peak of Pen Ey Gent and with incredible views I forgot how I felt so I carried on. There was a 6 mile hike to the viaduct at ribblesdale and the start of ascent to Whernside thankfully a steadier incline than that of pen. We got to the peak before 1.00pm which was on target to finishing under the 12 hours. We got to the peak and then the decent down was tough, steeper than the ascent with lots of stair like steps but we managed it. We then started the accent to Inglebrough this was tough. There was avery steep accent up to nearly the peak. We managed it and got to the peak another one of those incredible views. The decent down into Horton in Ribblesdale was tough and felt it went on for ever. Nev was great he kept me going. Once we got to the station that was the end and we did it in under 12 hours. 11.38 An amazing achievement for both of us. A well earned beer at the end
