Then, on Saturday and under the radar a couple of ADRC members sneaked off to the Rother Valley Marathon! A close run thing, but 1st and 2nd F40 ladies :-0

Katherine Wordsworth 5:15:31
Naturally, the main event of the weekend was the third leg of the South Yorkshire Cross Country League 2019 (Results)! At last, proper XC conditions at Kiveton Community Woodland arrived after some help with substantial rain for the past couple of weeks. Several amendments were made to the course because of flooding and the decision not to make it a Swim-Run. Four laps of chocolatey gooeyness with rain and almost zero degree temperature followed by a wash in a large puddle was enough to remind us all why we love XC so much. Special mention to Andy who only started running two years ago and made the leap to make this his first ever XC race. He was forced to talk to me afterwards if only because I gave him a lift there. He was at least still alive when I dropped him off…
MV65 Graham Werrett 39:18
MV40 Duncan Marlow 42:38
MV40 Andy Pidcock 58:36
Individual and team results to date and perhaps for a very long time we’re on the junior scoreboard!
One more SYXC event to go at Penistone…the showdown to decide final results. The race is set on the side of a beautiful wind-swept hill with gorgeous views across the course from almost any part of the race giving you a glorious taste of the purgatory to come!
***Update*** It had been decided that because of torrential rainfall at November’s TT there would be a re-run the following Thursday…so, November TT Part 2. I should add that those members that neshed the TT the week before were rewarded with even MORE RAIN!!! Serves you right!!! Although, Graham and Sophie had already done the previous week’s TT…which is frankly self harm. Results below with Mr Collingwood’s race analysis:
Steve Barber 29.23
Neville Marshall 32ish
Graham Werrett 36:14
Steve Gallagher 36:56
Sophie Bradbury 37:32
Chrissie Barron 28:00 (2 laps)
What a great idea it was to stage an additional TT after last weeks washout.
This weeks washout was even worse, so credit to those of you who laughed in the face of the wind and rain to trot round in your flippers and goggles.
As per the TT of the 7th of Nov, the runners were left to their own devices for timekeeping purposes. Despite the massive strides forward within our digital age, only 1 runner managed to nail this task. Well done Mr.Barber.
The biggest surprise of the evening were the chips. Fez made a tactical move (on the 2nd lap I think) to try a different supplier. Hopefully everyone enjoyed them, as well as making things a little easier for Fez too. Thanks very muchly.
The raffle was won by Steve Gallagher (I trust Chrissie dropped your £50 in cash through your door).

Next Time Trial is 5/12/2019, where you will all be able to wax lyrical about the run and meal at Edwinstowe
