Run for Wildlife 10k

Yorkshire wild park

It turns out there was a good club turnout although I don’t think any of us realised until we were there!
Preparation had not been great for me, my reoccurring foot issue had flared up and I’ll be honest, I’ve eaten far too many Easter eggs, so it was reassuring to see people dressed as elephants and giraffes and all manner of creatures in between.
Organisation was good, we could collect numbers yesterday which was helpful given it was a very, very early 8:30 start, albeit it was delayed by 10mins.
The start was a long drag around the car-park before we finally got into the park. I don’t know about anyone else but I really enjoyed the course, it was definitely not one for a pb, it was bendy with some track/grass parts. The animals looked indifferent to the crazy humans, we had great views of them – the polar bears were almost on the course! I found it a pleasant distraction from the turmoil in my legs. Big tick for access to the toilets on the course, it felt luxurious having a toilet stop at an actual toilet. . . .
Whilst the run was enjoyable (for me anyway), we seemed to be in a sun trap and it was tough running in what felt like a billion degree heatwave. Other than that all good and a welcome cake at the end.

Well done!
