The Collingwood TT Report:
So the Chairman wins the TT, by over 2 minutes as well. Surely we need to stop this happening in the future. C’mon people, lets train a bit harder and apply a bit of pressure to the elite. Could it be that Duncan running well is because he does “Cross Country?”
To my knowledge this was a PB for Sophie. It would seem the extra training for the marathon is already paying off. Well done on your run. Could it be that Sophie running well is because she does “Cross Country?”
Congratulations also go to Jody, and not just for winning the raffle. A fine debut at the monthly TT. It was heartening to see someone new to the TT have a real go at it. Great effort.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE, here’s to a happy and healthy New Year.

The last XC race of the year was the final leg of the South Yorkshire Cross Country League at Penistone Showground (results) This is also the Championship race; as well as the final race to decide overall League standings. Strong winds always guaranteed. Bit chilly. Bit rainy. Bit sort of up and down a hill. My favourite part of the course is always one of the uphill sections which catches the wind just perfectly as if running into a wind tunnel. The third lap being most enjoyable as on the third lap on this particular part of the course we were pelted by rather a lot of hailstones. We survived to face some bonus XC for 2020. Well done Karen Ball for her League prize!
FV35 Karen Ball 29:06 – and second FV35 with a silver medal!
More importantly, the winner of the 2019 SYXC League FV35 category!!!
M65 Graham Werrett 34:21 (fourth SYXC League MV65)
MS Michael Pearson 44:35 (20th SYXC League MS)
MV40 Duncan Marlow 44:44 (16th SYXC League M40)
MV40 Dave Pearce 50:18 (29th SYXC League M40)
That will do for now. Some informal fun over Christmas, the first Winter Time Trial of 2020 on Thursday 2nd January, followed by Yorkshire XC on Saturday 4th! Oh, and the Fell Running Team head out to Bronte Country for the Auld Lang Syne Fell Race on New Years’ Eve, another less warm event 🙂
