Pennine Barrier Ultra 50 mile

I have to say this was a fantastic event from start to finish. It was brilliantly organised with great help at all the aid stations making sure food, drink and medical attention was ready for you arriving. To say I had to mark out the route on a map and had to make sure I carried a compass majority of the course was marked up great which meant that the map and compass never left my bag.
The race was 50 mile starting in malham and heading out to take tackle all off the Yorkshire 3 Peaks starting at penyghent then taking on whernside and ingleborough. I then headed back up the shoulder of penyghent before the last big climb back into malham. I think I under estimated the greatness of the climbs but knew it would be hard with around 8000ft of elevation. The course had 5 aid stations which broke it up nicely allowing me to refuel and keep my energy levels up.
The highs were completing the 50 mile, the fantastic views, the brilliant camaraderie and have to say the great job GB ultras did with this event.
The lo I have none I enjoyed every minute of the race even the pain my legs had in the last 9 mile.
If you’re looking for a good challenge I would recommend this to anyone
