Wise decisions have been made by all organisations to halt events and prevent mass gatherings. Hopefully, it can now been seen why these actions were taken. Initial predictions put peak infection just before mid-May, but incidence of infection may now be slowed resulting in a more prolonged isolation state. Since further government advice to reduce person-to-person contact (in order to ‘flatten the curve’ and prevent the health services from being totally overwhelmed) it may be likely no further events will take place for most of the year.
For ADRC this means no activity beyond social media is likely to occur. The situation changes day by day and so it is impossible to judge where we’ll be in three months’ time. We still intend to take the club to Belgium in August and also host the Askern 10 mile race on 9th August. We hope to be wading through mud for the forthcoming XC season and work is being done to arrange the pre-Christmas club race and dinner.
In the meantime be sure to take official advice, keep fit and stay in touch. Best wishes to all.
