SY Clubs Covid Marathon Relay

Our colleagues at Penistone have come up with a marvellous plan for South Yorkshire clubs to take part in a marathon relay competition…everyone running on their own of course! We have received instructions:

May 6th marks the 66th anniversary of Roger Bannister's first sub-4 minute mile.
To mark the event, and for a bit of virtual running fun, I'm proposing PFRAC members is a virtual marathon of miles.
I want at least 26 club members to commit to running a timed mile between now and 6th May. The rule is not more than 15 metres, or 49 feet of drop in the mile, as per the BMC competition. That should allow you a point-to-point mile along most of the TPT, should you choose to use that wonderful resource.
Send me a Garmin or Strava link to your run.
If I get more than 26 entries, then I shall also create virtual 5ks, 10k, HMs etc from the times people run. (*Dawn or I will run the extra .21 and .10 needed to round them up to full race distances).
But that's not all. If you're thinking `I won't bother I probably won't be in the fastest 26' then think again. To paraphrase the late Lord Kitchener, your age category needs you. I shall be creating virtual race times from all the entries in the following categories:
Overall Men
Overall Women
M40-49
F35-44
M50-59
F45-54
M60-69
F55-64
M70+
F65+
Finally, I'll award a prize of beer, wine or chocolate for the entrant who can make the closest guess, at the time of entry, what they think our overall marathon time will be.
So to recap:
Run a timed mile between now and May 6th.
Send me evidence of your performance
Guess how fast you think we can run a club marathon
Let me know if you're interested in taking part by posting below, with your name, age category and guess for the marathon time of the fastest 26.2 people.

ADRC’s ‘Covid Captain’ is Lee Hatfield who has already mustered a number of our team to take part. Results are already being posted to the WhatsADRC forum. The deadline is Wednesday…so get a mile in!
