Hi, Everyone,
The Freddo relays are back, though with a slight twist; the “relays” part has been dropped due to the very annoying Covid situation we all find ourselves in.
The best way forward has been discussed with several ideas being talked about, but ultimately ruled out for this year. Many thanks to Susie and Mark for the very kind offer of utilising some of their land for a route. However, under the current situation, it was felt the safest idea would be to keep people apart for now and not for us to be meeting in one area…next year maybe!!!
So, the format for this year is to simply do something yourself or in a socially distanced way (family bubble or 2m rule applying) over the weekend of the 17th and 18th of October with our friend Dave Bullock firmly in your mind. You may decide to run, walk, cycle, swim, whatever you fancy, but you have to promise to do this with a HUGE smile on your face and then afterwards enjoy a helping of your favourite chocolate as a reward for a job well done.
ADRC will be making a healthy donation to a charity chosen by Dave’s wife Jane and if you feel you would also like to donate something, then please do so by naming your donation as FREDDO to the club’s account:
Askern District Running Club Account number 91237195 Sort code 401920
Please endeavour to send a few words of where you ran or a screen shot of Strava to the WhatsADRC group and maybe a picture of you and your post exercise ‘Chocolate Fix’.
We hope that you all take part where possible, even if you are new to ADRC and never had the immense pleasure of knowing our great friend Dave.
Take care everyone and thank you in advance.
Paul C, Kathie W and Amber T.
