Feckin Frickly Frollick 2023
This event is perfect for all runners. Found in South Elmsall Frickley country park is a former colliery, now converted into a lovely space that’s perfect for runners. the course takes place on good trail . For this event the five mile loop will combine good paths with some challenging hills the route is quiet and pretty . The bespoke medal will make a lovely addition to your collection. A goody bag and feast of cakes will be rewarded to all runners. Trophies are awarded to the first place male and female runners in each distance .Parking is available adjacent to the site.
Setting off on the footpaths where once was frickley colliery, just behind the football ground. The downhill start lulls into a false sense of security as you go through a boggy muddy freshly plowed field and several uphill sections before any real downhills towards the end of the route. Multi distance choices for athletes of all abilities, taking 1-6 laps to complete multiples of the 5 mile course.
I did the 10 mile/2 lap route, I found it to be an enjoyable race, plenty of friendly marshals and 2 feed stations per lap. Steve and Sophie took on the 15 mile race and were both full of enthusiasm before the run, Steve looked similarly full of the joys of spring as we crossed paths around the 8 mile mark.
cake, beer, medal and a bar of chocolate for all finishers.
